My word for the year for 2026 is "Peace". I found it was a word that was going over and over in my head from around October/November 2025 and realised it was there for a reason.
My monthly roundups are now going to consist of things I've done that month to bring me peace.
Modified Live
Modified Live is a car event held at Snetterton. This year they moved the date from October to August and it fell on my weekend with my boys. In the past they have gone with their dad.
We went along with my fiance and his eldest son.
It wasn't quite what I expected and Charles did say it wasn't one of the best ones he's been to. However, we did have a good time and he treated himself to a passenger drifting experience which was great to watch.
Ink and Engines Fest
Every year at the Norfolk Showground there is an event called Ink and Engines Fest. This year was the 3rd one. We went to the first one which was great. It's a mix of cars and tattoos, so something for me and for Charles. I got piercings at the first one we went to but due to having a local tattooist I am loyal to I wouldn't get a tattoo there.
This year we had thought about going but I couldn't justify the cost. HOWEVER, I then won two tickets for the Saturday....which was ideal because Oxide and Neutrino and Lisa Maffia were performing!! I said to Charles that the deal was we would go mid afternoon and then stay until late so he could see the cars and I could see the music. He was fine with that.
We sat for a few hours after we'd seen the cars, had some dinner and almost went home because my back was hurting and we were tired but I knew I would potentially regret leaving. It came to 8:30 and I decided to be brave, seeing that the barriers at the front were empty I would go and stand there, by myself, and make sure I had front row view! Charles isn't interested in music so he went off by himself to see the cars and I lived my best life dancing, cheering and singing along.
As a So Solid Crew fan I was in my element and it was an absolute dream come true. I never thought I'd be brave enough to stand alone at the front, but I did and it didn't matter at all that there was no one there with me.
And I got to sing along to 21 Seconds with Lisa Maffia so...it was perfect!!
