Peace - March 2026

My word for the year for 2026 is "Peace". I found it was a word that was going over and over in my head from around October/November 2025 and realised it was there for a reason.

My monthly roundups are now going to consist of things I've done that month to bring me peace.

Greg Davies in London!
I have a slight obsession with Greg Davies. My fiance and I love watching Taskmaster and Buzzcocks so for his 40th birthday last year I bought him tickets for us to go and see Greg at the Hammersmith Apollo. We had to wait 14 months for it and finally that date was here! We had such a great evening having a lovely meal out at Faber seafood restaurant, then of course seeing Greg and the next day visited Camden for the first time which was lush!

Scrapbook
I'm still absolutely loving making a scrapbook of my months. It's really helping me to appreciate and remember not only the bigger things I'm doing (London for example) but also smaller things like sending my friend flowers because she is the actual best, buying new sunglasses, trainers and eventually finding some jeans I actually like. I also add any compliments I get from work, these sometimes can be things we forget about and it's nice to look back on and realise "someone appreciated me this month".

First Massage!
I've always suffered with migraines but in March I experienced two migraines that lasted longer than ever before. The worst one being the second one I had that lasted over a week. To make sure I had done everything possible to ease or get rid of the migraine, along with taking time off work, getting a new desk, I also booked a back, neck and shoulder massage. Thankfully on the day this was booked the migraine felt like it was coming These may now become a regular thing for me. I've already booked in for a scalp, neck and shoulder massage for April to try and keep on top of it.

New Desk!
Back in October I had water leaking through the ceiling and onto my desk. I thought it had survived other than a bit of paint chipping but over time it was showing signs of damage to the point it might collapse. I also wondered if the set up of my old desk wasn't helping my posture and was maybe the cause of some of my aches and pains (could just be age though!) so I wanted to get a new desk.
I looked online and couldn't find anything I really loved. I also wanted something that really fit with the other furniture in my dining room. I also really liked the idea of getting something second hand rather than giving Amazon more money for something that I was settling on and that wouldn't "fit my aesthetic". We went to a local charity shop and couldn't find a desk there but I did buy something else I've always wanted. The next day we went to a local village that has an amazing vintage/second hand shop inside an old nunnery. It is and incredible building but even better, the shop is like being able to buy from a museum. I feel in love with a wooden desk, it's a bit warped but the measurements were SPOT on and it was only £30. SOLD!!
Since using it my posture is so much better and weirdly enough it makes me look forward to work.

Tent
We're off to the Isle of Man TT is May (ridiculously excited!!) and needed a tent. We'd been to Go Outdoors and found one we liked but my fiance found an even better one on Facebook Marketplace so we went to pick that up. We're very particular about what we want with our tent and this one completely fits what we were after. It was the top thing for us to sort before going so now it's just the little bits to sort! It was a relief to finally have that ticked off the list.
