September 2025

September was a big month for me as I turned 40! As a rule I now always take my birthday off work to have as a Wellbeing Day and I'm so glad I do that.

New Tattoos!
My birthday tradition is now to take the day off work and go and get new tattoos. I got 5 new ones on my leg including a sword with a heart (a tribute to the song Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benetar), 21 (a tribute to So Solid Crew) a panchette from a Ouija Board with my initial in the hole, and mine and my brothers birth times.
My tattooist surprised me with loads of balloons and a cake and they all sang Happy Birthday to me when I turned up which was so lovely.

Canoe hire!
We've been talking about hiring a canoe or a kayak the whole time we've been together and finally we did it! We wanted to make the most of the weather whilst it was still nice and had a day with no other plans so headed over to a town near us and hired a 2 person canoe for 3 hours.
It was so relaxing and was a really nice way of spending quality time together with no distractions.
I didn't really appreciate the blisters left on my fingers though where my rings were rubbing against the oar but it was worth it.

Jimmy's Farm!
We had planned to go to Jimmy's Farm in July for Harry's birthday but the weather ruined those plans and I promised Harry we would go in September. We always enjoy going there and go at least once a year. We have a tradition that the boys always have a photo on this boat bench. I'm so glad that despite their age they still do this.

Shropshire!
My amazing fiancé treated us to a weekend away in Shropshire for my 40th birthday. We stayed in an off grid cabin which was definitely an experience! The views were beautiful and we had sheep which visited us everyday.
He surprised me by messaging them beforehand letting them know it was my birthday and they had balloons, banners and bunting up for me which was so sweet.
Despite the weather being a bit rubbish we had a really lovely weekend. We went to an old prison and went to Wales for the day. It was so lovely and a great way to celebrate my birthday.
