Happy Sunday | Week Twenty Five

Whether or not you think Sunday is the end of the week, or the beginning of a new one, I thought it would be a nice idea to look back on the week that has just past and to look at the things that have made me happy and made me smile.
I think it can be easy to look back on a hard week and miss out on those things. A week of bad weather for example can really make it seem as though the whole week was a complete fail. But it probably wasn't. We must all smile at least once a day. I know I do, even if I forget it.

Things that made me happy this week:

A Tricky One

This is a hard one to write simply because I don't want to say much because of it being private, however I do want to make a point of saying that a decision I made this week which was huge and unexpected to a few people, including me, has made me feel really quite happy and content.
I'm hoping that my decision is going to improve family life and make life a lot easier.

Feeling Confident

This week the boys went to the birthday party of one of Charles' school friends. We haven't seen any other mums (other than my 2 friends) since school broke up in July and I did feel that kind of "must make an effort" pressure, which was my own doing and not at all put on my anyone else. This time my hair was curled using tongs, whereas the time before it was natural. I struggled when I first got my tongs knowing how to do it but I was really pleased with this.
I also wore my new Joules necklace and my current favourite Barry M Gelly polish 'Blueberry'

Tom Hanks....Again.

So this weeks Tom Hanks film was Philidelphia. Firstly, why why WHY have I not seen this before? Could be something to do with not knowing Tom was in it, but still...it was fantastic. I think if he wasn't in it and it was cast as someone else then maybe I wouldn't have connected with it so much but I thought his acting was fantastic. He really is an amazing actor.

Haircut

Charles' hair got sooooo long during the Summer. I really should have taken him to get it cut a long time ago but I wanted it to be freshly cut when it came to the first day of school.
He was big and brave and told the barber exactly how he wanted his hair and even said "yeah, see you later" as we left.
I laughed and said it was funny that he said "see you later" and he then worried thinking it was a wrong thing to say. Of course it wasn't, it was just really cute, especially as he had told my mum off the previous week for saying it when, in fact, he wouldn't be seeing her later at all.

A Little Spending Spree

I was really super lucky and won some John Lewis vouchers for my '42 days of summer' post. I may have been hunting around the site every single day until the vouchers arrived. I have this thing where if I have vouchers I want to spend them now, I can't wait at all.
The vouchers arrived and still it took me 24 hours of constant, obsessed searching to finally decide what to order. I feel silly excited at the skin care bits I have ordered. I wouldn't usually treat myself to skincare products which are expensive, at least all in one go, so it is a real treat for me.
I also bought another of the Emma Bridgewater Black Toast To Do lists as I'm finding my other is really helpful when it comes to blog post organisation so I want to use one for real life organisation too.
And a Happy Jackson notebook because.....it would have been rude not to.
The skirt I ordered is SO pretty although I am aprehensive about the size. It's the first skirt I've bought from Warehouse so I'm hoping a 14 won't be too small.
